5 Daily Habits for successful Mum Entrepreneurs

Have you ever sat down in the evening tired and frustrated trying to combine looking after the kids, work stress, finding quality time for your partner and still try to build your business? And you are wondering how these super successful mum entrepreneurs can make it work.

In this article, we will show you 5 habits you need to cultivate and implement daily that works for other successful mum entrepreneurs.

Planning: To be successful in business, you need to plan your day, week, months even years if possible in advance. The more you plan, the better chance you have of succeeding and less chance of little things falling through the cracks. Planning is an essential skill any mother should have. How else are we going to cope with the numerous activities our children participate in, or even decide what we are having for dinner on a day by day basis?

Planning does not only involve your business, it could be as little as planning your kids’ dinners, planning your holidays, planning outfits for the week, what goes in the washing machine when, the house work. The list is endless, having scheduled time for each activity ensures they are done timely and it doesn’t catch you unawares.

There are many tools that can be used to plan your days.

  • Electronic tools – These could be electronic planners on your phone or computers or even electronic diaries

  • Journals – There are many journals you can buy to help you plan and even prioritize what is important and what isn’t. An example on one I use is this. I find I can plan my month, day and week and see at a glance what I need to do. It also keeps me accountable to make sure I have completed what I said I would.

  • To do lists – I am a big fan of lists as it feels great when you can cross things off your list. It’s so simple yet effective in serving as a reminder of what needs doing so you don’t forget.

  • Spiral notebook – Having a simple spiral notebook where you keep note of what you need to do mainly so you don’t forget.

Wake up earlier:

I know we get tired mummas and there is nothing as good as a lie in however, I find waking up that little bit earlier than the children just puts me in that mindset that I can get quite a few things done before they wake up. Which means when they are awake, I will have more time for them till they go to school and I can focus on my work again.

1. Learn how to say no

2. Schedules her time effectively

3. Makes time for herself
