In recent years, since the Covid-19 Pandemic where most people were either isolating due to being vulnerable or working from home and therefore suddenly have some time on their hands, there has been a massive surge in the number of crafters looking to make extra money selling personalised products made using their cricut machine.

One of the questions most people ask is Can I make money with my cricut? Can you actually have a profitable business using your cricut machine?

I know people who have made a full time living selling products made with their cricut machine from either their spare room or even their living room. Business success is determined by how willing you are to try to give something a go and never give up.

It also saves them hours of modelling fondant that might not turn out great or even worse break off while on the cake.

And as there will always be celebrations e.g. Birthdays, Anniversaries, Graduations, Christenings, which require cake; cake toppers will always be in demand.

To start a cake topper business, you need to perfect your skills by learning and practising and position yourself so that you are the go to person for your local bakers.

This also seems to be a huge trend these days. Where people are no longer having big parties, people are still enjoying celebrations with personalised balloons and home celebrations. This is definitely an area to explore if you have a cricut machine and are interested in the Party industry.

The best way to get yourself out there is to advertise your services on your local Facebook groups. That is the first place I would look to get my personalised balloons and I get it every year for all my family members including myself. They all come personalised with both our names and whatever characters my kids are into at that point in time e.g. Fortnite or football etc.

Making personalised gifts is now a very popular thing to do. If you go on ETSY and type personalised, you will see thousands and thousands of personalised items people sell. You can rarely see anyone with a mug, cup, flask that is not personalised with either their quote or name on it.

In Fact if you think of any household item, it can probably be personalised and sold.

The key to succeeding with this type of business is to find a niche and decide what you will sell. It is not advisable to sell anything and everything. You will also need to have some small capital to invest in buying blanks and materials as well as your cricut machine. And finally you will definitely need some storage space for all your items.

Personalised Clothing:

Using your cricut machine to make personalised clothing is now easier than ever. You no longer need to use Print on Demand (POD) as you can personalise everything from t-shirts, to pyjamas or even slippers by yourself from the comfort of your own home.

These can be a great money maker too as you can get the paper relatively cheap but it does take a lot of time so your cost will be based on the time spent to make these decorations and you can charge a considerable amount for it, just look on ETSY.
